Travel_Consolidator reviewed UA airline in Business Class

Anonymous reviewed TG airline in First Class

For $800 USD, I got a great deal on this connecting flight from BKK to CCU. Visiting relatives was all that much easier having to read arrive well fed and rested. Plus I was the last flight out before the typhoon hit BKK so I can't complain. The crew were welcoming in typical Thai tradition. 'Savanika' when you arrived and the first class lounge had excellent food. I loved their satay. Full Review Email this Review

surfbrian72 reviewed VX airline in Economy Class

I love Virgin America! This was my first time using them. The mood lighting is awesome, puts you in a good mood right away. The staff are super nice, young and nicely dressed. They were very helpful and act like I was doing them a favor. It's nice to fly a service carrier once in a while. The check-in at Logan was fast and they even have checkin kioks if you like that type of thing. Seat was comfortable and good sized. Tons of entertainment to keep me busy even though it wasn't that long a flight to Los Angeles. Full Review Email this Review

travelalchemist reviewed SA airline in Economy Class

This was my first trip to South Africa and I had heard horror stories about flying SAA. I had a very pleasant trip. The cabin crew was courteous, seats were average size and comfort - I would not consider them small. I had a special meal which was fine. Full Review Email this Review

travelalchemist reviewed VS airline in Premium Economy Class

I loved the separate premium economy check in line, that made for a quick check-in. The economy line was quite long! The seat was in a bit forward from economy and reclined a bit more than the economy seat. It was also a little wider. Not quite as wide as business class but noticeably better than my earlier VS economy class seats. Full Review Email this Review

Travel Tips

If you're flying into Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban, use a luggage shrink wrapping service that secures your baggage from being opened. Apparently there is a luggage pilfering problem though I've never had any issues.

It's cheaper to rent a car from an online travel agent outside of South Africa than locally. (I don't know why!) Saved me 100 Rand on my last rental.

Always bring your international drivers license with you, the police in South Africa are *very* particular about it. You don't want to give them a chance to hassle you at all.
